Productive Sectors to Explore Business Opportunities

A large Indian business mission will seek business and investment opportunities in Peru during the first days of September, announced Peru’s economic and commercial counselor in New Delhi, Paul Duellos.”On September 6 will arrive in Lima next great trade mission with entrepreneurs in variouscc productive  sectors to explore business opportunities and investments in Peru,” he said.He stated that the Minister of Trade and Industry of India, Jyotiraditya Scandia, will lead this multi-sector trade delegation to the Confederation of Industry of that country, which aims to meet the highest political authorities and business in Peru.

“The map of strategic countries for India is located in Peru. This is the first time the Indian authorities and also visits the region to visit Brazil and Chile, “he told Angina news agency.

The industries represented by the delegation of broad segments covering business and include products such as fruits, nuts, wines, inorganic chemicals, auto parts, iron and steel products, copper ore, hides, textiles and jewelray in general.

He noted that India realized that should direct investment and strengthening business contacts in Latin America, after the international financial crisis hit its traditional partners.

He stressed that the Indian population is growing quite rapidly and is estimated to be 1.100 million. In addition, people with higher consumption capacity are growing at ten percent a year, figures that are an attractive factor for placing new products in India.

“We’re talking about a market that is going to have more than 1,600 million most of which will have a very good capacity to consume,” he said.

Duellos noted that products with great potential for this large market are vegetables and fruits and vegetables because the population is predominantly vegetarian.

“The legumes, like beans, are the main sources of protein for this population. Pillars too soon to start the Indian market, “he said.

He stressed that the Peruvian grapes are also entering this market and are gaining much acceptance, while non-traditional products such as asparagus, olives, artichokes, coffee, wine and even natural products, have a remarkable demand in India.

He said that while Indian businessmen are keen to make transactions with the Peruvians, they have not yet realized the huge market they are missing out because of the distance between the two countries.

He explained that many Indian businessmen coming to Peru’s trade office in New Delhi not only to inquire about business opportunities in this country, but also expressed their interest to know which local partners could achieve.
