Since business intelligence is linked to the management of information and everybody knows that information is power. We understand that or in addition to power, also mean “power of decision” according to the logic of the market.
When for example we can, thanks to the good management of our information, finding new business opportunities that allow the company to settle on a new niche and thus evolve over its competitors. Or to identify and assess the risks associated with three possible future strategic decisions. It is in this context that BI systems as arrays of simulation work on future scenarios.
The business intelligence is essentially a system that allows the Information Management objective to target-oriented business strategy with the help of a mapping data, which allows not only to avoid confusion by over-information but to fight against a possible shortfall of valuable information that the company did not achieve to see.
Any decisions on the business route, can lead to a lack of perspective if the information to manage, is not adequate or is not enough. For example, to find its market, its competitors or its bottlenecks as well as leakage of value in the production process. It may also be the case that the company operate with sufficient information but always delayed, when it is too late for react. It is therefore important to combat sub-information but also seek to receive information in real time (on line).
